Roccat’s Vulcan 120 AIMO keyboard is a precision gaming tool. It features the company’s self-developed Titan key switch Tactile which is said to be swift and responsive.
It also boasts outstanding companion software that offers a wide array of customization options. It can remap Easy-Shift keys to Windows shortcuts, web browser and media controls.
Titan Switches
ROCCAT says that its own switches deliver a keyboard experience that’s light, responsive and silent. Its Vulcan TKL features a super-flat form factor and a sturdy-feeling brushed metal backplate, with transparent switch housings that showcase RGB lighting. It also includes a removable wrist rest and is compatible with ROCCAT’s smart lighting ecosystem, AIMO.
Tetzner tells us that the company’s in-house developed Titan switches were designed to strike a middle ground between the speedy, linear Red and tactile Brown switches. They also have a transparent housing that shows off each key’s internal components and pairs well with AIMO. The switches are also designed to minimize mechanical chatter during actuation by using structural housing that reduces wobble. They also feature an ultra-light debounce rate that lets the firmware recognize each keystroke 20% faster than competing keyboards.
Using optical technology, the switches register each keystroke by intercepting a beam of light that’s interrupted when a key is pressed. They are also expected to withstand 100 million clicks, which is more than twice the lifespan of standard mechanical switches.
RGB Backlighting
RGB backlighting is like the sports car of keyboards, it’s not a necessary feature but it looks really cool. RGB lighting creates a mesmerizing effect by projecting simultaneous combinations of red, green, and blue LED lights which allows for millions of possible colors to be displayed. In a key assignment tab you can program a huge array of different shortcuts and macros to shut down your PC, open a new browser window, launch programs and more. It’s a powerful feature that if you’re a serious gamer can transform the way you play.
